Finally! I've been working on and off on this one for months. Inspiration would come and go. Plus, she just wouldn't sit still!
This is my good friend 's character Trickster. She's Gambit's sister. Sometime back, Britt mentioned that she would like to see someone draw Trickster. I kept that in the back of my mind and told her I may give it a go. So, I printed out a few of the pieces that Britt had done of her and kept them with my sketch pad so I could use them to remember what she looked like.
I'd sketch a little and put it away. Sketch a little more, put it away. It didn't help that I wasn't thrilled with how it was turning out.
Ever since working on National Boards, I've wanted to draw. So I spent my last evening off working on this. And I enjoyed it!
I'm actually pleased with how it turned out! I like her smile, her pose, and her clothes. The background isn't much, but she is supposed to be lying in the grass.
It took about about 3-4 hours total to do. I sketched her in pencil. I colored with colored pencil, permanent marker, and white charcoal.
Britt, I hope I did Trickster justice! I hope you like it!
Does gambit actually have a sister? And what does Rouge think of her?

After all, can the pencil lay claim to the artwork, or the keyboard hold rights to the poetry? How then may man declare the workings of God as his own?

WOW!! you finally got her to sit still long enough to draw her! (Trickster says sorry! ) She looks great! "It didn't help that I wasn't thrilled with how it was turning out." - just to tell ya! I... LOVE IT!! thank you beth!
She has such a wicked expression 8D Nice job on the pose, it really brings out her personality. My only thoughts are that the hands a tad too small - they should be able to cover the face - and with jacket folds they tend to cut across, horizontally more than vertically
P.S. good work on her eyes, it\'s not easy to make eyes still look natural without shinies.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
