My deviantART Story

Had to do this.

I was introduced to dA in 2005 by my sister, who is also an artist.  I've been a member since October of that year.  I loved it right away and dove right into the community.  I made friends and immediately started collecting favorites.  (I am a favorite HOG!    )  I chose my name because at the time, I adored Captain Jack Sparrow and my OC is Flame.  However, while I still love Jack, it has a deeper meaning than that.  I also think of it as a reference to the verse in the Bible about how we are much more precious to God than sparrows.  

One of the big ways dA has impacted my life has been through the friends I've made here.  I just recently met RedDrgn in person!  For a while I was pen pals with another friends.  One friend I found out was going to college nearby.  I love my friends I've made here.  I met a few people at Artist's Alley at Comic-Con in San Diego in 2012.    Seeing yayacosplay get on TV...I've watched her here since I joined!  

The talent here is incredible.  Being able to be a part of it is wonderful.  I can't put it into words.

I really enjoyed sharing my artwork here.  It was scary at first, for a number of reasons.  I also love how an artist can get lots of ideas here too.  I especially love sharing my writing, too.  

I think I've grown quite a bit since I've joined here.  I've learned a lot more about art.  I've found many people that I am huge fans of!  MelissaFindley and many others.  I also discovered psychedelic art thanks to a contest by a friend.  

While I have been scarce the past year or so, I have not forgotten dA.  It has a special place in my heart and my life.  My goal is to come back and start being here more.  I have a stamp that says I'm here for the long term, and while I may drift from time to time, it is still true.  (I'm very glad I have dA merch to help share my love of the site!  I miss the dA store.)

To wrap it up, I'm going to share some of the pieces I've discovered that really stand out to me.  
                       



So difficult to decide.  I have so many favorites.  Heart of Fire by :devcatherineenodet: speaks to me because of my OC, Flame.  Tears-And-Tragedies did Flame II for me.  JPRart's piece is one my hubby got me and is still hanging on my wall.  I love Jean-Claude from the Anita Blake series and that piece is one of my favorites of him.  MelissaFindley is one of my absolute favorite artists and I get excited about all of her pieces.  I chose A Touch of Sin because it reminds me of Gambit.
